General Information

The bank is included in the financial group Nordea. It is the largest in Northern Europe. The bank was founded in 1990 as Unibank A/S. In December 2001, Unibank A/S in Denmark was renamed in Nordea Bank Denmark A/S. In June 2003 Nordea Bank Denmark A/S and Nordea Bank Sweden AB (publ), and later Nordea Bank Norge ASA were transferred to Nordea AB (publ). The "parent" company Nordea AB (publ) has received the status of the bank and, thus, in January 2004 changed its name to Nordea Bank AB (publ).

Shareholders

The largest shareholders are state Sweden (20%), Sampo Group and Nordea Denmark fonden.
